A - B - C ...for the Love of Etsy!

Planning birthday parties is an art, an adventure and a memory in the making. As our youngest son turned 2, we decided to put a modern spin on an ABC Party. As the owner of Tints and Prints by Tierney, I challenge myself to create unique birthday parties for my boys.  And when I need those unique, one-of-a-kind ideas, I shop on Etsy for just about everything.  My parties start with the invitation design, of course, and everything falls into place from there.  ABC decorations, books, crayon favors, notebook paper bags, chalkboard and chevron accents...need I say more? Adding these modern twists to a traditional ABC party sounded like fun and were a hit with the school of cousins we had over.

Chevron Candyland Inspired Birthday Party

As a mother to three sons, I was ecstatic when my sister-in-law asked me to help with my niece's Candyland inspired birthday party.  As the owner of a little invitation and announcement card shop on Etsy, Tints and Prints by Tierney, I am honored when family and friends ask for my help.  I created an entire DIY Party Package of printables for this adorable Candyland theme party.  And pairing Candyland with bright chevrons updated the classic childhood game with a modern design obsession of mine...chevrons! And if you know me well, I can't get enough of chevrons, whether in my own home or in my card designs. 

The Candyland Party was a success.  The kids loved the candy station we had set up with make-your-own fruit loop necklaces, ice cream cone blowing bubbles, and a Guess How Many candy jar.  The goodie bag favors were a hit as well, allowing the kids to not only take some classic candy home...but they received their own pocket size miniature Candyland travel board game, complete with cards and gingerbread men. 

And the birthday girl was all show when she came to the door dressed to greet her guests...in a custom made Candyland outfit, made by her Nana, with love.  The fabric was purchased at a local craft store and looked perfect with the birthday girl's fruit loop necklace.  I enjoyed every detail of helping with this party, from designing the photo invitation to receiving my coordinating Thank You card in the mail, signed by my very own little sweet niece, Cora.
